Xaccute announces completion of a Web-based database that will make it easier for Canadian documentary filmmakers to connect online.
(Toronto, March 25, 2002) — Toronto-based Internet solutions company Xaccute Interactive announced the completion today of a Web-based database which will make it easier for Canadian documentary filmmakers to connect online.
Produced for the Canadian Independent Film Caucus (CIFC), the system plays a key role in that organization’s education and outreach programs. The CIFC Documentary Mentorship Program, which matches up-and-coming filmmakers with more experienced peers — the first of it’s kind in Canada — was launched with Xaccute’s database solution at its technical core.
“We were extremely pleased to be chosen by the CIFC to lead this project,” Xaccute Interactive president Kent Wakely said. “It was very rewarding to be able to help the Caucus expand their reach using the Internet and to help foster independent filmmaking in Canada.”
“When we enlisted Xaccute, we needed a solution that would fit our needs and budget now, and grow with us — and we needed it fast. Xaccute delivered in under two weeks.” said Michale Raske, Executive Director of the CIFC. According to Wakely, the turn-around time was incredibly quick, but with Xaccute’s background and wealth of knowledge, they were able to pull it together. “Regardless of how much time we had, it was still vital that a fault-free product be delivered to the client” said Wakely. And it was. “This database is the lynch-pin of our entire project an it works exactly the way we wanted it to. It’s a dream,” said Raske.
